Celebrating Black History- Sister Rosetta Tharpe
Sister Rosetta Tharpe is considered "The Godmother of Rock n' Roll. Her guitar playing style blended melody-driven urban blues with traditional folk arrangements and incorporated a pulsating swing that was a precursor of rock and roll. (1930s/1940s) She was a major influence to the likes of Bob Dylan, Chuck Barry, Little Richard and more. She was inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.
