Children's Books

Posted by Denise Butler on

As a child, I was always an avid reader.  My mom was a preschool teacher and taught me and my sisters to read at an early age, I always had an love for books.  Libraries and book stores were my go-to as a kid.  I remember my mom would give us an allowance, 90% of the times mine's would always go to the bookstore!  That new book smell is the greatest!

I have put some of my favorite children's books below and some new ones I have found!

Mufaro's Beautiful Daughter by John Steptoe

Alexander and the Horrible, Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst

Corduroy by Don Freeman

Viola Davis wrote a book about Corduroy as well, called Corduroy Takes a Bow

Judy Blume Anything and Shel Silverstein-those books were always checked out at the library.

Today some of my favorites are:

Last Stop on Market Street by Matt De La Pena

Every Little Thing by Cedella Marley

Happy Hair by Mechal Renee Roe

The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt

My nephew is who is now 20, got me into one of the funniest book series, The Adventures of Captain Underpants by Dav Pilkey
